Held in Kita on July 9th, two thousand twenty-six at the crossroads of the young people of Kita, the start of the financing of rural young people by the FIER II project led to a mobilization of great days in the Kita region. Administrative authorities, local elected representatives, technical and financial partners and many young entrepreneurs took part in the official launch ceremony for the financing of the 349 young project promoters in the circles of Kita, Bafulabe and Keniebah. It is an important step in promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship.
This initiative is part of the Government of Mali's strategy to promote youth entrepreneurship, strengthen their economic autonomy and create sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas.
The various interventions highlighted the importance of this funding to strengthen the economic empowerment of young people and contribute to local development.
Speaking, the representative of the Governor CAEF and the Mayor of the Kita Circle welcomed the commitment of the Government of Mali and technical and financial partners to youth entrepreneurship. They called on beneficiaries to demonstrate responsibility, discipline and good governance in the management of the resources available to them in order to ensure the success of their businesses.
In his speech, the coordinator of the FIER II project for the region recalled that this funding was the result of a process involving the identification of beneficiaries, their technical and entrepreneurial training, the preparation and validation of their business plans by the Regional Selection Committee and the support of young people towards the creation and development of their income-generating and micro-rural enterprise activities.
The 349 young beneficiaries, previously awaiting funding from the first project, will now be able to implement their projects in several supporting sectors, including agriculture, market gardening, livestock farming, agri-food processing, fish farming and trade. These investments should help create jobs, improve household incomes and boost the local economy.
The authorities present encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly, to fulfil the commitments made and to continue their collaboration with the accompanying structures to ensure the sustainability of their businesses.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, a young entrepreneur expressed gratitude to the partners and authorities for the trust given. He reaffirmed the commitment of young people to make this funding a real lever for economic and social success.
Strong moment of ceremony, the symbolic delivery of cheques to several beneficiaries who have illustrated the actual start of financing. Under the applause of the assistance, the young people selected received their cheques from the authorities present, symbolizing the confidence placed in their ability to transform their projects into successful enterprises.
With this financial support, they will have the means to realize their projects, create added value and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
The ceremony recalled the essential role of the decentralized financial structures partners of the project, technical services and local and regional authorities in monitoring. It should also be recalled that there will be post-financing support by Agency staff for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship in partnership with the FIER II project for the successful implementation of funded projects.
Concluded with the official launch of funding, followed by the family photo, this launch reflects the commitment of Project FIER II to promote a dynamic, inclusive and sustainable rural entrepreneurship, by providing young people with the means to participate actively in the economic and social development of the Kita region.
