The two thousand twenty-six and the first July held in the meeting room of the prefecture of Bla, the official launch ceremony of the Youth financing by the FIER II Project « Vocational training, economic integration and support for entrepreneurship of young rural people ». Under the chairmanship of the sub-prefect of the Bla Circle, the activity brought together the regional project team, the representative of the regional council, the resource centre, the mayors of the municipalities of the young recipients, the representatives of the caisses concerned (CAECE DJIGUISEME, NYESIGUISO and RMCR), the local technical services, the representative of the association of rural young people and rural women and the young recipients.
This deployment represents a major milestone in the process of economic integration of rural youth from the Ségou, Bla and Barouli circles. Following the updating of business plans and the implementation of technical and entrepreneurial training for the benefit of the beneficiaries, young people eventually gain access to the essential resources to start or consolidate their economic activities.
Ms FIER II Regional Coordinator after the words of 2nd Deputy Mayor of the Rural Municipality of Bla representing the Mayor and the intervention of the representative of the President of the Regional Council of Ségou, briefly outlined the results of FIER (previous project) before highlighting the FIER II Project. In the end, it expressed its gratitude to the authorities and encouraged all stakeholders to become fully involved in achieving the desired objectives of the FIER II project.
The Sub-Préfet, in his speech praised and thanked all the participants for their effective presence and especially the representative of the Regional Council and the Mayor, he reiterated his satisfaction with the presence of all the structures invited to the ceremony. The sub-prefect pointed out that the launch ceremony was the culmination of a long process that saw the FIER II project and its partners intervene with the young people of the circle since December 2024 through activities such as making the state of the premises of young people in agreement of financing, updating their business plans, their restitution, technical training and training in entrepreneurship – financial education.
In his closing remarks, the sub-prefect invited the young beneficiaries to redouble their efforts and discipline to live up to the hopes placed in them as bearers of economic projects, to the decentralized financial structures to respond favourably to the expectations of young people.
Finally, he urged mayors and communities to accompany young people because the path they are preparing to take, the path of entrepreneurship is sown. But it is not insurmountable with the help of all.
The ceremony ended with the symbolic handover Two cheques to two young beneficiaries (one woman and one man).
