The staff of the Regional Coordination Unit and the regional partners of the FIER II project received training on Gender, Gender Based Violence, Sexual Abuse and Harassment and the Gender Strategy of the project.
During three days, from 15 to 17 June 2026, participants discussed the basic concepts of gender, the prevention and management of gender-based violence, as well as issues related to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. The aim is to promote a better integration of the gender dimension into the actions of all actors involved in the implementation of FIER II. Participants also appropriated the project complaint management manual submitted by the facilitator.
On occasion, the FIER II Regional Coordinator indicated that the session was an essential step in building the capacity of the team and partners. It intends to promote more equitable, inclusive and rights-sensitive practices, including those of women, in accordance with the objectives of the project, whose actions must affect at least 40% of women and 1% of persons with disabilities.
Through presentations, group work, brainstorming sessions and interactive exchanges, this workshop was a space for learning, sharing experiences and collective reflection.
The Regional Council played an important role in carrying out the activity. Technical services, professional organizations of peasants, representatives of civil society associations also took full part in the training. Strategic partners thus strengthen their skills on a theme of major importance for inclusive and sustainable development promoted by FIER II in the Kayes region.
