This is the major decision taken at the end of the validation workshop of the sites dedicated to the construction of economic infrastructure for the benefit of rural young people in the region.
The sites selected include 3 for cork, 4 for rice, 15 for mowing and 5 for fish farming. The FIER II project intends to develop some of these sites to accommodate young rural entrepreneurs individually or collectively. It provides for the construction of infrastructure to accommodate these young people in different productive sectors.
The meeting held on Friday, 05 June 2026 in Kita was also confirmed by the local authorities for the development of the sites. They also affirmed their readiness to accompany FIER II in this mission.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the regional Governor Daouda Maïga, assisted by his Adviser on Economic and Financial Affairs (CAEF), Mr Mamadou Hama Maïga, in the presence of the Prefects and Sub-prefects of the localities concerned, as well as numerous administrative, technical and project partners.
