Ségou : 1st session of the Regional Consultation Committee (CRC) of the FIER II project

The meeting room of the Ségou Regional Council hosted on Wednesday 1and April the first session of the Regional Consultation Committee (CRC) of the FIER II project. This annual activity provided for in the implementation strategy for the FIER II project provides an opportunity to present the annual review of the year, including 2025, and the annual work plan and budget (PTBA) for the new year 2026. The session was chaired by Mr Yaya Bamba, President of the Ségou Regional Council and President of the CRC of FIER II. The technical services, agencies, structures of the Regional Council and the members of the CRC were present: the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training (DREFP), the Regional Directorate for Agriculture (DRA), the Regional Directorate for Rural Engineering (DRGR), the Regional Directorate for Production and Animal Industry (DRPIA), the Regional Directorate for Fisheries (DRP), the Regional Directorate for Veterinary Services (DRSV), the Regional Directorate for Water and Forestry (DREF), the Resource Centre, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the Chamber of Trades, the ASPROFER, the CRJR, the Regional Coordination of the APEJ and the Regional Coordination of the FAFPA.

In the opening words of the session, the President warmly welcomed all participants and urged them to actively involve themselves for the full success of the event. He took the opportunity to situate the activity in his context. Following the President, the Regional Coordinator of Ségou Ms. Salé TOURE in her speech presented an overview of the activities carried out under 2025 of the three components of the project,

  • Activities by component
  • Component A: This component shows that eight (08) activities were carried out. These include agreements signed with the technical services partners of the project, tutoring training and technical training in training engineering.
  • Component B: The activities covered the state of play of young people funded and awaiting funding from the FIER project, updating the business plans of young people on standby, identifying production areas by sector, training in entrepreneurship and technical training for young people on standby.
  • Component C: Delivery of activities for this component includes training of RCU teams on the Project's S&E System, IMIS training of the S&E team, data collection missions and monitoring of training activities.

In accordance with Regional PTBA 2026, component A recorded 25 planned activities, compared with 42 activities for component B in the Ségou region. As for component C, monitoring and evaluation, seven (07) activities are planned.
